On the Occasion of World Environment Day 5th June 2022 Brahma Kumaris Launched a Program called “Kalp Taruh – Growing With Values” as part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” (to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence) at Universal Peace Retreat Centre, Amaravati, A.P. This unique project will run from 5th June 2022 (50th World Environment Day) Until 25th August 2022 which is celebrated by Brahma Kumaris worldwide as ‘Universal Brotherhood Day’.
Brahma Kumaris encourage individuals to plant saplings with the principle of “One Person One Plant”.
To Launch this project we invited Dr. Suresh Babu Pasupuleti (Joint Director of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India) as a chief guest along with BK Savita Bhen Ji (Warangal Sub Zone Incharge), BK Aruna, BK Bharati, BK Padmaja 100 BK’s youth and Nearly 30 Centre Incharge sisters are also joined the program.
Dr Suresh Babu Pasupuleti appreciated the initiation taken by Brahma Kumaris which helps
individuals to understand their environmental responsibility that is to care for our earth which
is the constant provider for all our individual needs. He encouraged youngsters to plant a tree and upload the video in their social media account which will make others copy the
same. He requested to avoid using single use plastic and at the same time promote better alternatives. He was heartily invited to visit Madhuban.
BK Savita Behn ji explained the aim of this project is to combine the sacred process to nurture a tree as well as the soul through values, as the project is to provide sustenance to both the plant and the person who plants. The very important aspect of the project is to enable individuals to imbibe higher order values and practise them to make it a part of their lifestyle.

As a part of Launching Program samplings have been planted and Dr Suresh Babu has
gifted 100 samplings which are sponsored by Ultratek cement company among youth to
plant and nurture the same in their home.
A Beautiful Play by Young Girls on “Saving Environment and how it affects peace” grabbed
the attention of the audience.
